The Oceanarium

I have been to a lot of buffets on this island, but one that I had never tried was The Oceanarium Restaurant at Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki. I finally got my chance last week when my husband's niece invited us to dinner at The Oceanarium to help her celebrate her 9th birthday. The restaurant is best known for its 280,000 gallon fish tank that is visible from the entire restaurant and is 3 stories high.

Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the fish tank because I was too pre-occupied by the spread at the buffet.

The buffet has a sushi station where you can select from a variety of sushi rolls. They also have ahi sashimi and nigiri sushi as well.

They also have crab legs and melted butter. You can eat your money's worth but just eating the crab. The legs are big and easy to peel.

Feast on shrimp and vegetable tempura ....

or mahi mahi

They have a seafood pasta station where you can order your own pasta with red or white sauce.

The prime rib was pretty good!

There were so many desserts it was impossible to try everything. Round cakes....

smaller cake pieces...

and a chocolate fountain (choose between bananas or strawberries)

They also have a soft-serve ice cream station where you can make your own ice cream sundae.

The highlight of the evening was watching the diver holding the sign with a personalized birthday message for my niece.

The Oceanarium is a good place to go whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an all-you-can-eat place with a lot of seafood and desserts.

Reading that was like an itty-bitty vacation. I want to get my hands on those crab legs! I don't even want the butter. Just crabcrabcrab.
