Taco Del Mar

Hawaii is not known to have the greatest Mexican restaurants. But, if you're looking for a place that whips up quick Mexican eats at a decent price and lets you "have it your way", head to Taco Del Mar.

Here's the menu. The first thing you need to figure out is what you're in the mood for. You're choices are: burrito, quesadilla, taco, enchilada, or taco salad.

If you choose the burrito (mondo or mondito), you'll get to choose the type of tortilla, beans, meat (fish is available), and handmade sauce. You can also select one or more of the "add-ons", such as guac/sour cream or enchillada sauce for a nominal charge.

I ordered the quesadilla platter. The platters come with Mexican rice, your choice of beans, sour cream, and guacamole. For the quesadilla, I got to choose the type of tortilla (spinach, flour, or corn) and type of filling (shredded chicken, shredded pork, or steak).

As you can see, there are so many choices to make. And if you are a visual person like me, you like to see what your choices are. At Taco Del Mar, everything is laid out in front of you, and everything is assembled right before your eyes.

Going "Green" is the trend now days, and Taco Del Mar is on the bandwagon - check out their take out bags:
