Happy Valley Pasta & Pizza

Hawaii has a lot of Italian restaurants, although only a handful can be considered remotely authentic. Happy Valley is by no means authentic, but I don't think they claim to be authentic. It's a fusion of Italian and Japanese, similar to Pietro's, but their menu has a lot of unique items that sets them apart from Pietro's.

As with many new restaurants, one of the issues they need to iron out is the service. Our appetizer and bread came out after our entrees. It took a while for us to flag down our server to order dessert, and then to get our bill. But, hopefully in time they'll figure this all out.

The food itself was decent, and the prices are very reasonable. It's not a place that I go if I'm trying to impress someone, but I'd come again if I have a craving for pasta in a casual setting.
